If you've been a long-time follower of mine, you'd know how OBSESSED I am with highlight. I will literally wear highlight and no other makeup some times cause I love to look glowy and luminous. That's why I was super excited to see the Lancome Glow For It* palette in 02 Rose Twinkle (CAD $51) on sale at Sephora on New Year's (this palette is no longer available at Sephora, but is still in-stock on the Lancome website). I had previously swatched this palette in-stores and loved the texture and shades, but I didn't pick it up cause it was a bit pricey. So imagine how overjoyed I was to see that this palette was on sale on the first day of 2018!
I'm so excited to be talking about this palette, so let's get started!
The Lancome Glow For It Palette consists of three different "silky cushion" cream-powder highlights that provide a buildable glow. These powders can be used on the face, eyes, lips, and body.
The Lancome Glow For It Palette comes in a thin and shiny black cardboard packaging. I'm obsessed with how sleek this palette is - I'd definitely take this with me solely based on how portable it is. The cover of the palette closes securely with magnets, giving me another reason to take it with me when I'm out and about. The highlighters come in decent-sized pans that are also securely attached to the packaging - I have zero worries about anything breaking apart or coming loose when I pack this into my bag (and yes, I do have these worries because it's happened to me several times before!)
The Lancome Glow For It Palette consists of three cream-powder highlighters that are fit for a variety of skintones. Swatching them with my fingers, they definitely have the texture of a cream highlighter. However, once applied to the skin, they transform into a beautiful powder highlight finish.
Each shade is easily picked up with a tapered highlighting brush. When applied to the tops of my cheekbones, they give a natural, but slightly wet-looking glow that's not too intense and beaming. However, if you want those in outer space to see your highlight, you can easily achieve that by adding one or two more layers on top. The thing I love most about these highlighters is the fact that no matter how many layers I apply to the skin, my imperfections are not emphasized whatsoever. I've noticed that when I apply multiple layers of powdered highlight, my skin sometimes looks powdery and crepe-y, but with these highlighters, my skin looks super smooth and glowy.
There are traces of extremely fine glitter in these highlights that give your cheeks that extra gleam, but the glitter is definitely not visible on the cheeks, which is always a plus for me when I'm choosing which highlighters to try. After I set my face with setting spray, these last the entire day (more than ten hours of wear) with minimal fading. That, is what I like to call, a bomb highlight formula.
I would highly recommend this highlight palette to those looking for great highlighters that can be used for any occasion. It is a bit pricey, but for the luxurious quality, I'd definitely splurge on it if I get the chance to.
Have you tried this Lancome Glow For It palette? I'd love to know your thoughts on it, so be sure to tell me down in the comments!
