Since many of you tapped the "yaaaas" option to my Instagram poll regarding the topic of showcasing my decor collection, I've put together a post for ya'll. In this post, I'll show you the materials I use to put together my photos and also where I purchase the items. Most of the items I will be talking about are purchased online. If I bought the items in-store, I'll let you know where I picked them up and provide online links to similar products.
I've been loving the vibes from my photos after switching from a plain white background to a marbled one. This product is meant to be a self-adhesive shelf liner, so you do have the option of adhering this to a board or just unrolling it every time you are shooting, which is what I do. I prefer to keep it detached so I can have the option of adjusting its length depending on how and where I am shooting my photo at that time.
I like to use this large jewelry tray to showcase my larger palettes as well as any products I want to focus on when I'm shooting a photo with many products (like my Face of the Day photos). I love the aesthetics of this tray - the sides give off such a cool and trendy vibe. This is also very handy for storing small objects. I use this to hold smaller jewelry trays so that all my accessories are neatly organized.
This is one of the smaller jewelry trays I put in the larger one shown above. I use this to hold all my rings which I wear and use in my photos daily. I love the elegance of this ring holder and it gives a pop of gold in my more monochromatic photos.
If you've been on my Instagram feed, you'd know I love to take photos with its reflection, which is why I love this mirror. Its ability to adjust up and down is great for ensuring that you don't capture anything else but the product in the reflection. This feature is also so handy for when you do your makeup - I always tilt it upwards when I apply my mascara and downwards when I line my waterline. The flip side of this mirror magnifies its reflection which is great for brow tweezing.
I just love the elegant vibes flowers give to any photo. I typically get my flowers from Dollarama since there are an abundance of dollar stores in Canada. I've also purchased some from Daiso when I was in America. If I can't find specific flowers I'm looking for in stores, I turn to good old Amazon. They have so many different options to choose from. Bonus - I put these flowers in vases around my room for decor as well!
Rings (and other accessories) are a great way to spice up any flatlay. I typically get my rings from Pandora but there are great dupes on Amazon for a quarter of the price. Of course, the rings I buy are primarily for me to wear, but using them in my photos gives me double the reason to grow my ring collection!
That's it from me, but I'd love to know what's in your decor stash and where you purchase them from, so be sure to leave me a comment down below! Hopefully this post helped you find some great pieces at affordable prices to add to your flatlays. If you'd like me to write more posts on blogging tips, also let me know in the comments cause I'd love to branch out and share my ideas with ya'll!
Until next time,
