Happy May, my loves! April was definitely a very hectic month with my school year ending (I'm finally finished school!), moving back home, and massive spring cleaning, so I'm so glad to be back here creating content for ya'll.
I don't have a huge list of beauty favourites for the month of April just because I didn't have much time to apply makeup, but that's most definitely going to change from now on! My April favourites consist of a surprising amount of skincare products since I've really been focusing on taking care of my skin in order to achieve that glowy and healthy complexion.
Origins A Perfect World Antioxidant Cleanser with White Tea (CAD $31)
This has just become my favourite daily cleanser, and I really don't see it going anywhere anytime soon! It foams up very well, which is something I need in a cleanser - I don't feel like it adequately cleans my skin if it doesn't foam up, which leads me to my next point. This cleanser does such an amazing job at making my skin feel clean and fresh without dehydrating it. Plus, it smells so good and refreshing, perfect for those early mornings when you need a little pick-me-up!
Tarte Mermaid Skin Hyaluronic H2O Serum* (CAD $55)
For the past few months, I've been searching the market high and low for a good hyaluronic acid since I had just finished the one from The Ordinary, which was too sticky for my liking. Although the Tarte one is a bit pricey, it does an amazing job at replenishing the moisture to my skin. The serum literally melts into my skin, making it feel hydrated within minutes. I apply this after toning my face at night, and the next morning, my skin feels so much smoother and even looks a bit plumper. I highly HIGHLY recommend this serum, it's definitely worth the splurge!
Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy* (CAD $32)
A lifesaver for my very chapped lips, this Fresh lip balm hydrates and smooths out my lips, prepping them for perfect lipstick application! I apply a few layers before I go to bed and in the morning, my lips feel so soft, plump, and moisturized. This is a very pricey lip balm, but I've been constantly using it for a couple of months now, and I still have half a tube left!
Trestique Mini Plumping Lip Balm in Barbados Berry* (CAD $15)
My go-to lip product to throw on when I go anywhere is this Trestique lip balm that came in a Sephora Favourites Lip Kit. This gives my lips the perfect natural-looking tint to make them look super healthy and plump. My lips feel hydrated and nourished throughout the day while the colour lasts for a decent amount of time. This cute little lip balm comes in three shades, and you can bet I'll be picking up the other two!
BareMinerals BarePRO Performance Wear Foundation* (CAD $42)
I cannot and will not stop raving about this foundation - I feel like this was made for my skin. It's medium-full coverage, but looks insanely natural on the skin. The best part is, it lasts all day without fading or melting off my combo-oily skin, even on a very hot day. This might have just become my holy-grail foundation, and I would recommend this to everyone, no matter what your skin type is.
Crown Brush CRG1 Deluxe Tapered Powder Brush (CAD $17.99)
This is such an amazing brush for bronzer - it's soft and fluffy, but still fairly structured and tapered so it doesn't pick up too much product cause no one wants to look like an oompa loompa.
Crown Brush CRG2 Deluxe Blending Crease Brush (CAD $7.99)
An absolutely amazing blending brush for the crease, this brush helps all my shadows blend together like a dream. I always start my eye look using this brush; every transition shade I use in my crease is applied and blended together with this brush. It's so soft and again tapered, so the eyeshadows go on softly (which is how transition shades should be applied to the crease), but can be layered to increase their pigmentation.
Crown Brush CRG3 Deluxe Round Buffer Brush (CAD $14.99)
The last brush I've been obsessed with is this buffer brush, which I use to apply foundation. I love how soft and dense it is - it really helps buff the foundation into my skin, making it look very natural on the skin. It doesn't soak up too much product, helping to save foundation and avoid a streaky mess on the face.
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge* (CAD $7.63)
I love this beauty sponge so much because of how affordable it is! I typically switch out my sponge every three months cause I'm insanely scared of bacteria accumulating in my sponge. It blends liquid products into the skin very well without soaking up too much of the products, which is always a good thing to look for in a beauty sponge. I also really enjoy the flat side of the sponge as it covers more surface area of the face, making it much faster to do my makeup in the morning.
