Now that spring is upon us, I of course have to pull out my peachy-coral blushes out of my collection. During my Christmas vacation to Dallas, I came across a Benefit Cosmetics vending machine in the airport. Being me, I had to pick something up from the machine for the experience, so I decided to grab the GALifornia blush to add to my Benefit boxed powders collection!
Benefit's GALifornia* (CAD $38) is said to be a golden pink blush with a radiant finish that complements all skin tones. It's infused with a subtle shimmer that gives your cheeks a soft sheen. GALifornia smells of pink grapefruit and vanilla.
The Benefit Cosmetics GALifornia blush comes in the standard cardboard packaging that all the other Benefit powders come in. The print on the box is colourful and vibrant, making the packaging super fun and perfect for the spring and summertime. The lid of the box closes magnetically. Inside the box is a small mirror and a rounded blush brush. I typically don't reach for the included brush because I prefer using a stippling brush to apply my blushes.
This blush contains 0.17 oz. of product.
Benefit's GALifornia is a beautiful coral-pink blush with the slightest hint of a sheen to it. This shade is insanely gorgeous on tanned skin - it makes your tan pop and can literally make you look even tanner and more sunkissed. Compared to Benefit's Coralista, Coralista is definitely way more coral and more luminous than GALifornia.
The formula of GALifornia is perfect in my opinion. It has just the right amount of pigment for a blush - I don't like a blush that is too pigmented because it can make me look clown-ish real fast. How I apply this is with my stippling brush, I tap it into the product a few times to give myself the perfect flush of colour on my cheeks. The hint of shimmer in this blush makes your skin look so healthy and sunkissed - literally like you've spent the day at the beach.
GALifornia is an extremely long-lasting blush. There is absolutely no fading after a 12-hour day; even the sheen stays put! It is also very blendable and not powdery whatsoever. The best thing about this blush is its ability to be built-up to a brighter pink. For my looks, I like a slight flush of colour to the cheeks which is why a tiny bit of this blush goes a long way for me. If you like a stronger blush, tap your brush into the product a few more times to build it to the colour you desire.
If you're looking for an amazing and vibrant blush for the summertime, GALifornia is the one! The formula is absolutely fabulous and worth every penny. A little bit of this blush, and your cheeks will look flushed, healthy, and glowy. However, if you're more fair or prefer a more neutral and subtle blush, this one might not be your best option because of how pink it is.
