Hello my lovely people, and welcome to part two of my Best of Beauty 2017! I know these posts are coming a bit late, but I've been working hard on planning out more content for you all as well as revamping my blog. Do you like the new banner? Let me know down in the comments!
This post will be dedicated to all the amazing eye products I was in love with last year. Despite having tried quite a bit of amazing eye products, I really tried to narrow down my list to my absolute favourites because eye makeup can really add up and be quite expensive (trust me, I know). If you haven't checked out my Best of Beauty 2017: Face Products post, you can click here to read all about some very great face makeup that I adored last year. Let's get this post rolling!
ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS MODERN RENAISSANCE EYE SHADOW PALETTE (CAD $55)
Of course this palette has to be a favourite right?! I'm obsessed with every smokey warm look I've ever created with this palette. Each shade is so smooth and buttery, making blending a dream come true. They are also so pigmented, so a little goes a very long way. There is a bit of kick-up with these shadows since they're so soft, but it's nothing too bad. If you like wearing warm-toned looks, this palette is perfect for you!
MORPHE JACLYN HILL EYESHADOW PALETTE (CAD $47.38)
Again, are you surprised this palette is on my Beauty Favourites list? If you follow me on Instagram, you would know just how much I love this palette. If not, then one, please do check it out, and two, I'm going to tell you why I love these shadows so much. This palette is filled with so many gorgeous shades from warm-tones to pops of colour. Every shade is super smooth and pigmented - if you'd like to see swatches of my favourite shades, you can click here. They're amazingly blendable without losing they're pigment along the way. If you're looking for a palette that has it all, this is definitely the one to have in your collection!
ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS DIPBROW POMADE IN TAUPE (CAD $23)
I've been using the Dipbrow for almost two years now, and I've still got a long way to go with it. It's the most pigmented and creamy brow product I've ever used in my entire life - one tap with my brow brush can fill most of my brow. I use the shade Taupe since I have blonde hair (I used to have super blonde hair, but now I have dark brown to ashy blonde ombre hair). The pomade is also super long-lasting - once it dries down, it will not budge. I'd recommend this product for those who are more experienced with doing their brows since it does take some time to fill in your brows with this and it can get messy if you are new with your brow routine.
BENEFIT COSMETICS GOOF PROOF BROW PENCIL IN 5 (CAD $32)
This is a great product for beginners! It's soft, but not too soft that it'll break off, so it creates more natural-looking lines when you're filling in your brow. The shape of this pencil is tilted, making it so easy to fill in your brows along their natural shapes. The shade 5 is a good shade for those with dark brown hair (which I did have before turning blonde).
MAYBELLINE GREAT LASH CLEAR MASCARA* (CAD $4.96)
I believe this is supposed to be a mascara, but I use it as a brow gel. It does an excellent job at keeping my brow hairs in place without weighing them down or making them sticky with product. It's super inexpensive and accessible - available in almost every drugstore and online.
BOBBI BROWN LONG-WEAR GEL EYELINER IN BLACK INK (CAD $33)
This is the best gel liner I've ever used. It's so easy to apply with a liner brush since it's creamy, but not too creamy to the point where it'll slip all over the place. Once it dries down, it does not move an inch nor will it smudge onto your lower lash line - I've worn this out for more than 12 hours and it did not budge. I've had this for so long, and it's still as creamy as the day I first got it. It is pricey for a gel liner, but for its quality and the fact that a little goes a long way, it's definitely worth the splurge!
MAYBELLINE EYE STUDIO LASTING DRAMA GEL EYELINER IN BLACKEST BLACK* (CAD $8.99)
A great dupe for the Bobbi Brown gel liner, this one is extremely black and creamy. It is a bit more creamy than the Bobbi Brown one, so it does have the tendency to slip a bit when applied to the eyes. However, once dried, it's in place for quite a bit of time before it starts to smudge. After the 12-hour mark, it had smudged a tiny bit on my lower lash line - nothing unmanageable. If you're wanting to pick up the Bobbi Brown liner but are on a budget, I'd suggest getting this one instead.
KAT VON D TATTOO LINER IN TROOPER (CAD $25)
I've never been a fan of liquid liner - I could never achieve the precise and sharp wing I wanted with any liquid liners I've tried until the KVD one. The tip is so sharp and precise that I can draw any wing I desire - a thin one for the day and a thick one for the night. It's also super long-wearing and doesn't flake off during the day, which I very much appreciate since other ones I've tried have had the tendency to flake off during the day.
L'OREAL PARIS LASH PARADISE WATERPROOF MASCARA IN BLACKEST BLACK* (CAD $10.96)
This is literally the only mascara I've been obsessed with this year. Before this came out, I loved the L'oreal Miss Manga Rock, but now it's been discontinued (good thing I still have a backup of it)! However, I'd say the Lash Paradise is even better- it gives my lashes insane volume and length without being clumpy or sticky. It doesn't smudge or flake off during the day and holds the curl to my lashes until the moment I take it off. Definitely check this mascara out if you haven't already!
This wraps up my list of favourite eye products for the year of 2017. Like I said, I tried really hard to narrow down my list so this post won't be crazy long - the products mentioned were my absolute favourites of the year. If you haven't checked out my favourite face products of 2017, you can read all about them here. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the last part of my Best of Beauty series which will feature all my favourite lip products!
