We have FINALLY reached the last post of my 2017 beauty favourites! Of course, I saved the best for last cause I am obsessed with lip products. If you haven't seen my 2017 favourites for face products and eye products, you can click here and here.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita (CAD $24)
This liquid lipstick is very much loved in my collection. I've had this for two years now, and I always find myself reaching for it during the fall and winter seasons. It's the perfect rosy-chestnut shade that's not too dark to be considered vampy. The formula is spot-on - non-drying, long-lasting, and pigmented. What more can you ask for in a liquid lip?
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Ludwig (CAD $24)
Are you shocked that I have another KVD liquid lip? This is a brown-nude that's perfect for everyday-wear (for reference, I have light-medium neutral skintone). The formula is the exact same formula as the KVD Lolita lip, making this the perfect nude liquid lip.
Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Echo Park (USD $6.50)
The Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip formula is another one of my favourites. It doesn't dry down to a full matte - it's more moisturizing and pigmented with a satin finish. Echo Park is a beautiful pinky-nude - more pink when I'm fair, and more nude when I'm tanned.
Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick in Trivial (CAD $24)
Another pinky-nude, can you see a trend? However, this one is more sheer than Echo Park and has a metallic finish. I love how natural it looks on the lips even with the shimmer. It is very long-lasting and transfer-proof. However, I do recommend wearing a lip balm or lip primer underneath because this formula is a bit drying.
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Safeword (CAD $22)
I LOVE the UD Vice lipsticks. There is such a large variety of shades and finishes, and the price is right for the amount and quality of product you get. Safeword, a brown-nude, is in the comfort matte finish, which is my favourite formula from their lipstick line - it's super matte, but extremely comfortable and non-drying on the lips.
Colourpop Lippie Stix in Brink (USD $5.50)
I am obsessed with Colourpop Lippie Stix. The range of shades and finishes is again, amazing, and it's so inexpensive. Brink is a matte rosy-terracotta-nude and it's so pigmented and comfortable on the lips. It lasts about 2 - 3 hours before fading, and these lippie stix are so portable and easy to just throw in your purse.
Mac Cosmetics Lipstick in Modesty (CAD $22)
Another brand with a superb colour and finish ranges. Modesty is a cremesheen formula - it's pigmented, super creamy and moisturizing on the lips, but doesn't slip and slide on the lips. Since it's so creamy, it's not too long-lasting, so reapplication and touching up is a must.
Mac Cosmetics Lipstick in Velvet Teddy (CAD $22)
Like I said, Mac creates incredible lipsticks. Velvet Teddy is a darker brown-nude, beautiful for the cooler months. This lippie is in the matte formula, but is still really comfortable, non-drying, and pigmented. There is a bit of tug on the lips when you apply this, so I'd recommend applying a lip balm or lip primer before.
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer (CAD $23)
I bought this gloss on a whim, but I'm so glad I did! It's a beautiful rosy-pink with very natural shimmer. It's super glossy (which I love in a gloss). I like to reach for this when I'm wearing very minimal makeup. This also looks incredible on top of nude lippies.
Kylie Cosmetics Gloss in Damn Gina (USD $15)
A beautiful mauve gloss with subtle multicolour shimmer. This gloss is more pigmented than the Fenty one, but still very natural-looking. It has such a high-shine finish, making my lips plump and fresh. For a more in-depth review, check out my November Favourites post here.
Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Dolly (CAD $24)
Another gorgeous mauve gloss (I guess I really like to stick to the same colour ranges...). This one is much more sheer than the Kylie one. I throw this one when I'm going out with a bare face to help my lips look moisturized. It's also super minty which I love because it feels so fresh on the lips. This was also mentioned in my November Favourites post, so be sure to check it out!
Maybelline Color Elixir in Nude Illusion* (CAD $16.25)
A beautiful nude gloss from the drugstore! I typically am not a fan of drugstore glosses because all the ones I've tried are sticky and break up on the lips, but the Color Elixirs feel and wear like a high-end gloss. They have a large shade range and an amazing formula, perfect for those looking for a more affordable gloss on the market.
This concludes my Beauty Favourites of 2017! I loved having the chance to look back and round up all the products I obsessed over, and I cannot wait to see which products I discover (or rediscover) and fall in love with.
