Charlotte Tilbury has always been a brand that I've admired for its luxury and high quality. Their lipsticks are the first products I've ever tried, and I was immediately blown away by them.
The At Your Lip Service Royal Trio contains three full-sized lipsticks with two different formulas. The two formulas are very different from one another, but both are amazing in its own way. Be sure to keep on reading to find out why Charlotte Tilbury's lipstick formulas impress me so much!
The two formulas in the At Your Lip Service Royal Trio (CAD $100) are the K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick and the Matte Revolution Lipstick.
The K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in the shade The Duchess* is described as a tea-rose pink. This is a creamy lipstick that helps create fuller-looking and hydrated lips. This formula contains Lipstick Tree extract which helps protect the lips from UV rays and oxidative stress, leaving them soft, smooth, and moisturized. Light-diffusing pigments create a fuller-looking and multidimensional lip. Finally, the blend of waxes allow the lipstick to glide on the lips with rich, intense, and buildable pigment.
The Matte Revolution lipsticks in this set are in the shades Legendary Queen* (soft neutral wine) and The Queen* (rosy crown-jewel pink). These lipsticks have a unique square angled tip that is supposed to replicate the shape of a lip brush for precise application. The formula is infused with rich oils, triglycerides, waxes, and 3D glowing pigments to help the lipstick glide on effortlessly and to create the illusion of fuller-looking and luminous lips. Lipstick Tree and orchid extracts leave the lips looking young and healthy, while the soft matte finish allows the lips to look hydrated, but still matte.
All three lipsticks are housed in heavy rose gold bullets - I knew just from the weight of these in my hands that they'd be super luxurious! The cap of these lipsticks close tightly with a 'click', ensuring that the lid does not easily come off in your purse or suitcase. The twist up of the packaging is also quite sturdy, so you won't have to worry about your lipstick being crushed against its lid when you throw one of these beauties into your bag.
Holy guacamole, these lipsticks are seriously no joke!
Staring off with the K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in The Duchess, this lipstick is so insanely creamy and pigmented - one swipe is more than enough to cover the lips entirely with colour. The product glides onto the lips so smoothly, but it's not so creamy that it slips and slides on the lips (we've all had that one lipstick that was so rich and creamy that it went everywhere after application, am I right?). The finish of this lippie is definitely on the satin side, so I do notice the colour fading within 3 hours of wear (drinking from a bottle included). However, this amount of wear-time is very typical for a creamy lipstick and since its reapplication is so easy due to its amazing formula, I have zero problems reapplying this lipstick when necessary.
Next up are the Matte Revolution Lipsticks in Legendary Queen and The Queen. These lipsticks have quickly become my go-to matte lips this past month because of their insanely comfortable formula. I love a good matte lip (I do prefer matte lips over satin/glossy lips), but one thing I'm super picky about is the feel of matte lipsticks on my lips. If they feel too heavy or cakey, I cannot stand to wear them for longer than two hours. These, however, are so comfortable, yet so matte, that I forget I'm even wearing lipstick! They feel lighter than wearing a lip balm, which is just amazing, and a bit magical, in my opinion.
What's even more incredible about these lipsticks is their longevity. I wore this out for about four-five hours while drinking bubble tea, and the colour was still going strong afterwards. There was very minimal fading, and the fade was so even on the lips that it was actually hard to notice it. If that's not impressive, then I honestly do not know what is!
Charlotte Tilbury's at Your Lip Service Royal Trio is worth every penny in my opinion. Yes, $100 is pricey for three lipsticks, but if you're in the market to splurge on a high-end lippie, I recommend none other than Charlotte Tilbury. A single CT lipstick retails for $39 on their website, so this set actually saves you money AND you get three insanely luxurious lipsticks! I am most definitely hooked on their lipsticks, and the next shade I'm determined to get my hands on is Kim K.W.!
