Every makeup lover's dream is to be able to buy professional quality makeup at extremely affordable prices. This is also the exact thought behind the makeup products made by Crown Brush. They believe that keeping their packaging simple can help maintain the low costs of high quality makeup. I believe this is an amazing idea behind a cosmetics company - yes, good packaging is needed, but what's more important is the quality of the makeup and how affordable it is to the public.
Crown Brushes sells a wide variety of beauty products from eyeshadow palettes and concealers to setting sprays and makeup brushes. These goodies are now available on the Showcase website, which makes your girl very happy because I'm always looking for high quality, but affordable makeup that is easily shipped to Canada!
Concealer Stick (CAD $6.49)
The Crown Brush Concealer Sticks come in a plastic swivel tube, which I'm a huge fan of for sanitary reasons. The formula is ultra creamy and blendable, but I highly recommend setting it with a powder after to avoid creasing since it is so creamy. This concealer has great pigment that's not blended away and remains smooth and even on the skin.
Unfortunately, I was sent the wrong shade for concealing, so I can't talk about my experiences using this as a concealer. However, I can talk about using this concealer stick as a cream contour because as luck would have it, Mocha is the perfect contour shade for me - not too warm and not too cool. Its super creamy formula allows for the product to spread smoothly and evenly, while the high pigmentation and blendability together create the perfect natural-looking contour. If you're looking for a great, but inexpensive cream contour on the market, I highly suggest this one.
All Day Setting Spray (CAD $7.99)
A setting spray that makes my makeup stay in place the whole day and is under $10?! Sign me up!
The Crown Brush All Day Setting Spray comes in a plastic spray bottle with 2 oz of product. The nozzle is very strong, so I'd recommend holding this a little further from your face and moving your hand while spritzing the product onto your face.
This setting spray not only helps my makeup last the entire day (I tend to wear my makeup for more than 12 hours a day), it also helps the powders on my face melt into the liquid products AND it prevents my makeup from creasing or caking up throughout the day. It does smell a bit like alcohol when you initially spray it on (alcohol is listed as one of the main ingredients), but for the quality and the price, the smell really doesn't bother me too much.
CP15 Pro Eyeshadow Golden Peach Collection (CAD $16.99)
When I first saw this eyeshadow palette, I immediately fell in love with the colours because they remind me of bright and sunny weather. These shadows are housed in a plastic packaging with a sturdy magnetic lid. The front cover is clear so you can see the shadows without opening the palette. This palette contains eight matte shades (in the small pans) and twelve shimmer shades (in the large pans).
The matte shadows have soft, but buildable pigment, which I think is perfect for blending. When you dip your brush in them, they are a bit chalky and have some kick-up, but it's not so much that it bothers me. When the matte shades are applied onto the lids, they blend super easily with each other, as well as with the shimmer shadows. There is no fallout despite the initial kick-up in the pans, which I am forever grateful for because having eyeshadow fall down onto my under eyes is something that makes me anxious when I do my makeup. These shadows last throughout my 12-hour days without any fading or creasing (I do, of course, prime and set my lids before applying my shadows).
The shimmer shadows are what I am most impressed with in this palette. They are super pigmented and apply so smoothly onto the lids. To increase the intensity of the pigment, I spray a little bit of the All Day Setting Spray onto my brush before picking up the product and applying it to my lids. These, like the mattes, are super blendable and last all day without fading or creasing. What gets me the most about this palette is the pan size for these shimmer shades - they're ginormous! As a gal who loves her shimmers, this is the perfect way to grab my attention and make me love this palette!
Makeup Brushes (CAD $5.99 - $17.99)
Showcase was kind enough to send nine brushes my way, and I have to say, these brushes are what I was most impressed with in this package. Everything about these brushes from the bristles to the handle feel SO high-quality, but they cost less than $20 apiece. Honestly speaking, they feel and perform better than some of the high-end brushes I own! The handle even features an anti-slip feature so that you have a better and more comfortable grip on the brush when blending. The bristles are super nice and soft on the skin and pick up a decent amount of product for application.
My favourites of the nine are:

I must say, Crown Brush products have stolen my heart, particularly their brushes! Every single one of these products have seriously impressed me, and I am so glad they're being sold at Showcase, making these products more accessible to Canadians (I have a Showcase at my local mall, so I know where I'll be getting my Crown Brush products from now on)!
