One of the most anticipated launches of 2017, FENTY BEAUTY by Rihanna, has dropped in Sephora stores and online, and of course I immediately had to persuade my sister to make a trip to Sephora with me over the weekend. Little did I know, she had already purchased two products for me to try the day of the launch. Thank you @felisetsui, love you and appreciate you!
My sister purchased the Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation (CAD $42) in the shade 260 and the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer (CAD $23). We ended up making a trip to Sephora anyways for their new point perks, and I picked up the Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in Rum (CAD $31).
Is this new launch worth the hype? Keep reading to find out!

Prior to my knowledge that my sister had purchased this for me, I was conflicted on whether or not I should pick this up. On one hand, the name of the foundation really intrigued me - a matte foundation that looks soft on the skin? YAAAAS! On the other hand, I have a ton of foundations in my collection, so I technically didn't need another one.
After swatching this on my hand, I was super convinced that this foundation needed to be in my collection. Swatched on my hand, it mattified my skin, but also gave it a soft and subtle glow - it sounds so contradictory, but under the bright Sephora lighting, my hand looked flawlessly airbrushed.
When applied to my face with the Simple Glam Girls oval brush (use code makemeup for 20% off), it offers a medium-full coverage while also subtly blurring out my pores. It does a great job at covering up redness, discolourations, and breakouts. Upon application, the product is a lightweight gel-like consistency that dries down to a flawless soft matte finish (the name was right!). After four hours of wear in a very hot lecture hall, my foundation stayed perfectly flawless with no oils breaking through and no creasing in the crevices of my nose.
Would I recommend this foundation? HECK YES. I'd recommend this foundation to anyone and everyone. However, this foundation would especially be great for those who have oily skin, but don't want to wear a heavy and harsh matte foundation.
Next up is the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer.

Again this was another product I was debating on purchasing. Since this is the only lip product in the line, it would be wrong if I didn't try it out. However, I have so many lip products, I was afraid this would get lost in my collection.
I was so glad my sister ended up getting this for me. It is SO beautiful on both pale and tanned skin tones - I wore it one week when I was more pale and on another week when I was super tanned after sitting outside watching softball games for the entire weekend. It adds a hint of pinky-rose shimmer to the lips and makes my lips look so plump and juicy. I wear this on its own or on top of nude lipsticks and liquid lips.
Last product I picked up is the Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in Rum.

This product was the first in the line to catch my eye due to the huge range of shades that these sticks came in. I literally stood in Sephora for a good half an hour trying to decide which shade to pick up because they are all so beautiful!
When I first applied Rum onto my face, I thought it would be way too dark for me since it came out so pigmented. However, once I blended it out with a damp BeautyBlender, it melted into my skin and gave my cheekbones a light bronzy glow. When I purchased this product, I thought it would give my skin a more intense glow (similar to the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighters), but I was shocked that it blended out so subtly.
This product definitely surprised me. The way it melted into my skin is absolutely astonishing, but the huge pigmentation contrast between direct application and when blended out is something I'm not a huge fan of. However, I am glad that this particular shade's pigmentation blended out so much, or otherwise I would never be able to wear it!
I would definitely recommend Fenty Beauty by Rihanna products!
The foundation has quickly become my #1 ride-or-die foundation, and I don't see it coming down the rankings any time soon.
I'm also definitely going to be picking up lighter shades of the Shimmer Skinstick, perhaps in the shade Confetti or Starstruck, to see if the pigmentation is better when blended out.
Ps, can we talk about the Fenty Beauty Galaxy collection coming out for the holidays?! I will most definitely be grabbing some of the items in this collection right when it comes out!
