Hello all to my very first monthly favourites blogpost of this year! I'm going to make it a goal to publish a favourites post every month cause there's always so much great makeup I want to share with you all. I've re-fallen in love with some products in my collection, but I've also discovered a few new ones that I've completed fallen in love with.
MAKE UP FOR EVER ULTRA HD INVISIBLE COVER FOUNDATION IN Y365* (CAD $52)
I remember not being a fan of this foundation when I first purchased this last summer because of the fact that I have combination-oily skin and this foundation had no oil-controlling properties at all. However, now that it's winter and oh so dry in Canada, I'm liking the dewy complexion more and more. This foundation is amazing if you're a fan of skin that glows all day. But what if you're oily and STILL want dewy skin? Use a damp beauty sponge to set your entire face with powder after applying this foundation to your face. That way, the foundation's dewy effects will peak through the powder without having the oils peak through as well.
COLOURPOP SUPER SHOCK HIGHLIGHTER IN WISP* (USD $8)
I pulled this gem out of my collection to play with one night at the beginning of January and have fallen in love since. The unique watery and squishy texture results in phenomenal colour payoff - I use my fingers to apply this onto the tops of my cheekbones and I'm left with a beautiful champagne-y glow-from-within highlight. At first I was scared that Wisp would be too dark for me right now, but it's actually the perfect shade! These are so inexpensive and pack a punch to any makeup lover's collection. I'd suggest storing these upside down to prevent them from drying out faster.
KYLIE COSMETICS KOKO KOLLECTION FACE PALETTE (USD $40)
Another oldie but a goodie is the Kylie Koko face palette. I've been obsessed with the bronzer and blush shades in this palette. The bronzer is so beautiful on my neutral light-medium skintone - it's not too dark, orange, or muddy looking. It has a very slight and fine shimmer that makes it look slightly satin. It's so smooth and blends into the skin so seamlessly.
The blush is a beautiful warm pink with a satin finish. It does look intense in the pan, but if you use the right brush and a light hand, it'll give your cheeks the most gorgeous flush of colour.
TOO FACED JUST PEACHY VELVET MATTE EYESHADOW PALETTE* (CAD $55)
I've said this so many times in the past few months, and I'll say it again: Too Faced has really stepped up their eyeshadow game. I'm super picky with matte eyeshadows, so for this entire palette to pass the test, it must be life changing. Is it? I'd say so. Each shade is SO creamy, SO pigmented, and SO blendable. The fact that these shades are also on the warmer side is just an amazing plus because everyone knows how I feel about warm-toned shadows. I can't wait to try the new White Peach palette, and I hope it's equally amazing!

TARTE CHROME PAINT SHADOW POT IN MARTINI* (CAD $27)
I have to say, I am so impressed with these Chrome Paint Pots by Tarte. When applied on the lids, these are high-shine, metallic, and glossy-looking. They are insanely pigmented, and I'd definitely recommend applying them with your fingers - the warmth of your skin will help melt the product into your skin, making the colour super intense. You can also apply this with a flat shader brush and some Mac Fix + for a super glossy glaze over the lids. I'm definitely going to pick up the rest of the shades - you literally cannot go wrong with these paint pots!
COLOURPOP ULTRA MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN MONDAY (USD $6.50)
It wouldn't be a favourites blogpost if I didn't mention a lip product. Colourpop Monday is a beautiful peachy nude that applies smoothly and evenly to the lips. It's super pigmented, so one-two swipes will cover the lips completely. It's long-lasting and dries completely matte. It is a bit drying since it's so matte, so I'd recommend wearing a lip balm or primer underneath.
That's it for my January favourites! I made some great purchases this month (I was supposed to be on a no-buy, but I caved), so hopefully you'll be seeing some very new products in my next monthly favourites post!
