I seriously cannot believe 2017 is over - where does the time go? One year ago, I started my beauty Instagram to share my passion for makeup with everyone. To this day, I still cannot believe the growth that continues to occur on my account. I've met some really awesome people and have seen so many beautiful and inspiring pictures created by super hardworking and amazing people! My New Year's resolution is to be more present on my blog and to reply to my Instagram comments in a more timely manner (I'm not the best at replying to everyone's comments, but I do see and appreciate them very much!)
I've split my Best of 2017 into three posts because I just have so many products that I loved in the year of 2017. I'll be talking about these products in the order I apply them to my face. So without further ado, let's get started on all the face products I've been loving for the past year!
Toolbox Cosmetics is a Canadian company focused on creating functional and efficient products. As a Canadian makeup lover, I am constantly looking for Canadian cosmetics brands to try, so I was ecstatic to test out some of their lip products.
Welcome to the third (and last) part of my collective Sephora haul (which I made all throughout November... better late than never, right?). If you haven't seen my first two hauls, you can find them here and here!
This post will be all about the skincare products I picked up. Most are back-ups for the products I'm currently using, but there are a few that are brand new to me and my skin.
Welcome to the second part of my collective Sephora haul! If you haven't checked out the first part of my haul which features all the palettes I picked up in the month of November, you can find it here. This post is dedicated to all the lippies I picked up during the sales at Sephora. Surprisingly, there aren't too many, which is SO weird for me cause I'm a lip product j u n k i e.) Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the last part of my collective haul, which will feature all the skincare products I picked up during those sales!
November was definitely the month of sales, sales and more sales! Not going to lie, I felt a tad bit overwhelmed at times trying to decide what I should get, what I needed to get, and what I wanted to get (let's be real though, I never really need to purchase anymore makeup). However, I'm extremely proud of myself for limiting my haul to these gems (adult-ing is definitely very serious business).
In this first part of my haul, I'll be showing you the palettes I got and talking about why I got them, as well as swatches of every single shade in each palette (as per requested by my Instagram followers - love you guys!)
DECEMBER IS HERE!
My favourite time of the year because who doesn't love Christmas?! Your girl has been pulling out her Christmas decor since the beginning of November, but now I can go all out.
November has been such a busy month, but I'm extremely proud of myself for being on top of my blogging/Instagramming game.
To celebrate my increased productiveness, let's jump right into this month's favourites!
Since last year, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, has been raving about the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. This was literally in every Youtuber's favourites videos, making me desperately want to test it out to see if all the hype is justified.
Unfortunately, the Shape Tape is only sold on the Tarte website and was always excluded from any promotional discounts Tarte had, so I was never able to bring myself to purchase it. However, Tarte FINALLY had a discount on the Shape Tape during their birthday, and of course I woke up at 8 am just to pick two up.
Without further ado, let's get this review rolling!
Christmas has got to be my most favourite time of the year - there's adorable decor everywhere, a ton of family spent, and even more cosmetics Christmas collections released!
This year, Mac Cosmetics came out with a stunning holidays collection, the Snow Ball Collection, and everything about it screams Christmas from the gorgeous shimmery eyeshadows to the frosty lipsticks perfect for holiday parties.
So without further ado, let's get started on my collective haul!
Calling all unicorn lovers, this one's for you!
Like every other person who was obsessed with the unicorn trend back in the summer, I wanted to douse myself with whimsical colours and shimmers. I picked up the Tarte Make Believe In Yourself: Eye & Cheek Palette (CAD $52, now $39) right when it was released because of the beautiful shimmers. However, this palette was quickly put on sale, which really surprised me.
Keep on reading for a full review on this palette!
When the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipsticks (CAD $26, now $15) went on sale, I probably looked like the kid who got her dream Christmas gift. I was sitting on my couch, screaming at my housemates to get on Sephora since they're equally obsessed with makeup. Unfortunately, I was quickly reminded that I was on a no-buy, but THANKFULLY, my sister ended up picking one up for me in-stores to add to my collection. Keep reading for my review on these studs (haha get it?)
I bought my first Make Up Forever eyeshadow trio three years ago during the spring VIB sale and have been in love with them ever since. When the Artist Palette Volume 1 (CAD $52, now $29) came out, I quickly snagged it because I love neutral and shimmery shadows, and I knew MUFE shadows never disappoint.
I can't believe that the Artist Palette Volume 1 is now on sale! Do I regret purchasing it at its full price? Is it worth picking this palette up now that it's on sale? Keep reading to find out!
I quickly picked up the Tarte Aquacealer Concealer (USD $26, now $13) after I fell in love with their Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation. I've always been intrigued with serum/water-based products because of the lightweight and moisturizing properties they claim to have. However, with this product, I was curious to see if it retains the average concealing properties while being lightweight. Is this concealer that does it all? Keep reading to find out!
I can't believe it's already the end of October! The weather is definitely getting cooler here in Canada, which means cozy sweaters, vampy lips, candles, and Christmas!
I have been extremely focused on my skin and making it look as smooth and airbrushed as possible, so as a forewarning, there are quite a few face products in this post.
So without further ado, here are my October favourites!
I'm back with another haul, and this time it's a super affordable one. I was buying some eggs at Shoppers Drug Mart when I noticed the red sale tags in the makeup aisle. Of course, I ran down the aisle like I was in a track meet so my eyes could devour all the great sales happening.
If you'd like to see the beauty products that kept me away from the picking up those eggs for the school week, just keep reading!
One of the most anticipated launches of 2017, FENTY BEAUTY by Rihanna, has dropped in Sephora stores and online, and of course I immediately had to persuade my sister to make a trip to Sephora with me over the weekend. Little did I know, she had already purchased two products for me to try the day of the launch. Thank you @felisetsui, love you and appreciate you!
My sister purchased the Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation (CAD $42) in the shade 260 and the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer (CAD $23). We ended up making a trip to Sephora anyways for their new point perks, and I picked up the Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in Rum (CAD $31).
Is this new launch worth the hype? Keep reading to find out!
