Cleansing oils is one product that I have never added to my skincare routine because I've had such a hard time finding the right one for my skin. I've been through a multitude of cleansing oils the past couple of years, both drugstore and high-end, and I've never found one that I've enjoyed until I tried the shu uemura Anti/Oxi Skin Refining Cleansing Oil. Now that I know there's actually a cleansing oil on the market that works for me, I don't think I'll ever be without this!
The shu uemura Anti/Oxi Skin Refining Cleansing Oil* (CAD $46) is said to be formulated with powerful antioxidants and moringa extract, which contains anti-pollution power. Coupled with green tea extract, this cleansing oil slows down aging stress that's caused by pollution. Dullness is reduced while glowing, smooth, and clear skin are introduced.
The Anti/Oxi Skin Refining Cleansing Oil comes in a slim green translucent plastic bottle with a pump, which I personally enjoy since it's so easy to dispense the product. It contains 5 oz (148 mL) of product; for CAD $46, that is a bit pricey, but this works so well with my skin that I wouldn't mind paying a few extra dollars for it.
The Anti/Oxi Skin Refining Cleansing Oil comes out of the bottle like any cleansing oil, but when applied to the face, it feels a lot thinner than all the other ones I've tried. It does a stellar job at removing my makeup - I wear a full face of makeup almost everyday and this oil removes every speck of it, even the waterproof mascara!
With my previous cleansing oils, there's still a significant amount of makeup left after the cleansing oil - I use the Vanity Planet Spin for Perfect Skin* facial cleansing brush with my face cleanser, and the brush head is tinted with makeup after I give my face a good scrub. However, with the shu uemura cleansing oil, my brush head is pretty much clean. I'd say this cleansing oil does a very impressive job at removing my makeup.
The most impressive thing with this cleansing oil is that it doesn't leave an oily film on my face after I wash it off unlike all the other ones I've tried. I know it shouldn't matter much since I'm washing my face with a cleanser afterwards anyways, but I'm so picky with these things that this was actually the first thing I noticed about this product. I could probably just use this cleansing oil to remove my makeup, and I'd be good to go with the rest of my skincare regime.
I actually gave a bottle of this cleansing oil to my mom, who has mature and sensitive skin, and she uses this as a cleanser at night. She too, is very picky with her skincare and very much dislikes products that make her feel greasy, but she's had a great experience with using this cleansing oil as a cleanser since it's so gentle on the skin.
The shu uemura Anti/Oxi Skin Refining Cleansing Oil has now become a staple in my skincare routine, and I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who's looking for a good cleansing oil to remove makeup, or to those who have really sensitive skin that gets irritated even by the gentlest of cleansers.
