Since last year, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, has been raving about the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. This was literally in every Youtuber's favourites videos, making me desperately want to test it out to see if all the hype is justified.
Unfortunately, the Shape Tape is only sold on the Tarte website and was always excluded from any promotional discounts Tarte had, so I was never able to bring myself to purchase it. However, Tarte FINALLY had a discount on the Shape Tape during their birthday, and of course I woke up at 8 am just to pick two up.
Without further ado, let's get this review rolling!

The Tarte Shape Tape claims to be a "full-coverage and blendable concealer that instantly brightens, smooths, and contours the skin." It is said to provide "a flawless matte finish that won't flake or crease, even if you have dry skin, fine lines, or pore problems." It's made with mango seed butter, shea butter, and licorice root extract to regenerate and illuminate the complexion.
The Tarte Shape Tape is vegan and dermatologist tested.
The Tarte Shape Tape concealer is in a plastic cylindrical tube. The wand is a lot thicker and sturdier compared to that of other concealers. The doe foot applicator is also larger, so it picks up a lot of product. The lid has a gold and purple chevron pattern.
The Tarte Shape Tape has 10 ml (0.34 oz.).
First off, this concealer is full, and I mean FULL, coverage. When compared with my other favourite concealer, the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer, I typically apply a stripe under each eye with the UD concealer. However, with the Tarte Shape Tape, I apply three dots under each eye and I achieve the same, if not more, coverage. It's also great for covering up hyperpigmentation since it's so full coverage.
The Tarte Shape Tape has a very thick and creamy formula, which at first, I was a bit skeptical about since any thick and creamy concealer I've tried have been very difficult to blend and ended up creasing badly. Boy was I shocked to see how easily this blended into my skin. I use a damp BeautyBlender to blend it into my skin, and it makes my undereyes look absolutely flawless.
On a regular day, I have the Shape Tape on for about 6 - 7 hours, and at the end of the day my concealer still looks flawless. However, on a particularly long day last week, I had this on for about 12 hours, and I noticed it had creased and settled into one very defined line under my eye. This has been the only time I noticed any creasing at all, and I wasn't too shocked since by the end of a 12-hour day, my makeup tends to get kind of dull and flat (I don't tend to touch-up during the day).
The Tarte Shape Tape is not the best at covering up broken-up blemishes (ones that are peeling or have a rough scar) or areas where you have dry skin. Since the Shape Tape is so thick, it does tend to emphasize dry and bumpy skin. However, I do love using this concealer to cover up blemishes since it is so full coverage, so I have found a trick to go about this issue. I apply some concealer onto the back of my hand and mix a tiny drop of beauty oil with it - this allows the concealer to do its job without it emphasizing any peeling or broken skin.
The Tarte Shape Tape has quickly become my favourite concealer of all-time! I've been using it everyday for the past two months, and I've barely made a dent in it since a little goes such a long way. This concealer has by-far the best coverage when compared to all the other concealers I've ever tried, both from high-end and drugstore brands. Coupled with its amazing blendability and staying power, the Shape Tape is definitely worth every penny.
